A short story

Shorts are always a hit trend in the warmer months, but this season I think the short trend has had a whole new face lift. Tiny denim hot pants that barely cover your bum are no longer seen, instead the most gorgeous paisley and graphics print shorts have been hitting the style charts.Not only that, the amazingly flattering tailored style of all of these shorts make them a perfect fit for anybody.

Here's a few of my favorites:
Missoni go for a crochet knit style with tribal prints.
Alberta Ferreti go for tropical prints perfect for festival season!
Anna Sui chooses silk and a delicate girly print.

However this could slightly break the bank, so luckily for us there are also some high street beauties hitting the rails too!

As well as the shorts, the trend has also sparked a new trend of the short suit. The professional and chic new outfit gracing both red carpets and offices by women of all ages and sizes!

Olivia Palermo is my all time style icon! She even manages to out do herself with this amazing short suit. The combination of geek chic collar with sleek court shoes is the perfect duo to create this stunning outfit.

Rachel Bilson also tries the short suit, working with a looser fit and metallic colours.

If only my life involved occasions to dress live Olivia or Blake, I would be one happy lady!

The last month or so has flown by! As if we are already in July. Terrifying. Next festive competition

So feelingstylish.co.uk is running a competition for us bloggers to create a Christmas window for Next. All you have to do is simply design your window using next products and submit your entry in a comment on the feelingstylish.co.uk blog. I have done my own entry (I will admit it is hard to create the window and make it look realistic so make sure you explain your concept) My window focuses on a pale colour scheme. It is extremely feminine and not obviously Christmas themed in the way that there is no red or gold to be seen! I chose to use the two glitter Christmas trees as features as they are adorable! I would actually have the fairy lights on the left wrapped through the branches of the trees for a more whimsical feel. I have then chosen two party dresses. Seeing as party season is all about the sparkle I chose to pale pink numbers both embellished beautifully with sequin. Money vs Style

As I sit here next to my best friend searching Amazon for a cheap pot of OPI muppets collection I can't help but wonder if having more money makes it easier to be more stylish?  Think about it..... Being a student means I am poor 99% of the time apart from my birthday or Christmas. Luckily for me it is my 21st birthday on Sunday and therefore had the luxury of having over 200 pounds to spend on of course clothes! Although I wanted my Mulberry Bayswater for my birthday I was EVEN more over joyed to unwrap my beautiful Michael Kors rose gold watch off my parents. (partly because it is extremely shiny) but mainly because this is the first truly expensive item I have really owned. The first thing I know I will keep for the rest of my life.  So does money make you more stylish? Look at celebrities, they are always the ones captured and photographed for the style pages of magazines, so why not photograph normal people?
